Disaster

In one moment it can change the course of a day. It is merely an unforeseen collision of forces. A natural and necessary occurrence. Most likely you have had an experience with disaster. It’s impact probably still resonates with you like it was yesterday regardless of how long ago it happened. Disaster is relative. It is personal. It is subjective. It is traumatic. Disaster is on whole other level. Just hearing about the details or witnessing the aftermath of disasters can be impactful. There is no solution but to go on, rebuild, and start again. No other way to manage but cleaning up the debris in the aftermath.

I struggled with the content for disaster and thought about changing the topic with a similar word. Only to discover something I was not expecting. If we really took into account any event that impacted us so profoundly; like how we deal with a disaster, healing would occur sooner. For instance, when traumatic events take place in our lives it is more common to dismiss the importance of dealing with it then face it head on, grieve, clean up and restart. Trauma that is not dealt with literally becomes stuck within us. Undoubtable the longer it remains stuck you become stuck like quicksand. I guess the best way to relay the message is your opinion of an event is the only proof you need to gauge it’s significance. Only you can decide what you need to heal and how to go about moving through your own stuck energy. So what are waiting for?
