Retrospective

To look back on or reflect on past event(s) or situations can be helpful. To be retrospective is to see things as they really are rather than how you thought they were. When looking back on trauma it can be easy to self sabotage yourself into regret. Often because we can recall the exact moment we felt in our gut something was off or not right but we ignored it. In my healing journey I learned the hard way that this only continues the cycle and is crazy making. I instead choose to look at why I ignored my gut instinct to better understand the lesson I was presented with. Believe me when I tell you I fought this idea until I ran out of options and had to come to terms with the reality that I am responsible for my healing. I alone am the only one who can save β€œme”. The beautiful thing about that is you discover self-empowerment.
