Sanctity

For the love of God, and all that is holy. Sanctity is sacred. Most often used when referencing a union like marriage. But what about sanctity in everyday life. We hold many things, relationships and spiritual ideations as sacred so who is to say it only pertains to religious standards. My sanctity is the joy I feel in the everyday mundane moments. I will never forget the moment I experienced such joy, such an overwhelming loving peacefulness that washed over me. It was a few years ago on a school day where I just dropped the kids off and the sun was rising. I was stopped at a traffic light on my way to grocery store and it happened. Total elation for no reason other than being alive and knowing that was enough. I started crying while smiling. I never felt that before and currently experience a moment like that at least once a day. I am not religious and do not follow any religious doctrines. I am spiritual. Just a soul having a human experience.
