Imbalance
You may not even know the difference but once you achieve balance in your life you suddenly will be aware how imbalanced you normally function as. It’ s funny how our body is constantly trying to maintain balance through homeostasis and all we do to thank it is fight against it. We think we need stimulants, sedatives and other pharmaceutical drugs to get balance but what we really are doing is getting in our own way. It is hard to say no to the constant remedies we are programed to become dependent on. I used to be so addicted to coffee my kids knew they weren’t allowed to speak to me before my morning cup. I also could not fall asleep without the help of a sedative because I lived in a constant state of fight or flight. Balance is a skill and like any skill you get better at it with practice. It requires being mindful of staying connected with your body and your mind. You will know you are successful when you no longer have to stay aware but instead you can immediately feel the difference when you are imbalanced.
