Laughter

Everybody laughs. It is universal language that expresses joy and happiness. Babies laugh before they speak and quickly learn how laughter is reciprocated. Some laughs are contagious. Some can get everyone’s attention. Sometimes something is so funny laughs become silent.

Recently I have become aware of a pattern in my own family. My kids laughs change as they get older. The pitch, the volume, even their expression when laughing change. When I became aware of this phenomenon I felt nostalgic for the younger years and a little sad for the time that passes so quickly. Now I just feel lucky to have the chance to watch their lives evolve and spend that precious time with them no matter how fast it goes it by.
