Defense
It is a human right to defend oneself against attack. Physical, emotional or a mix of both is inevitable but your defense from such confrontations is what allows for a fighting chance. Your humility and compassion are not useful in conflict. They are virtues, yes, but when one is under attack you opposition will only see this as weakness.
It is important not to assume these virtues irrelevant because they serve as a compass when acting in self-defense. Often we withhold being defensive when protecting ourselves due to a fear of becoming a bully. Self-defense is a skill not a weapon. By engaging in patience and balance we approach each battle we face with a trained eye. This is how you triumph regardless of the outcome.
